Add Pipe : Pipe Data
You will use the ADD pipe command when you wish to add additional pipes to your FHC hydraulic model. You can access this command from the menu Draw -> Add Pipe or from the shortcut code [Ctrl+A] or from the icon on the toolbar.

Auto Node Button |
|
|
Auto button will generate the next unused node number for the system dependent on the node number settings which will find in the menu Tools -> Auto increment number. If you have auto increment set ON then the end node number will be generated automatically. |

|
|
|
Horizontal pipe length |
|
|
Enter a horizontal pipe length for the pipe you are adding to the hydraulic model. |
|
|
|
|
|
Start node number |
|
|
The new pipe is always added to the end of an existing pipe. The start node number for this pipe will be the end node number from the pipe you are attaching too. The Add pipe command will automatically find the next start node number. |

|
|
|
End node number |
|
|
Each pipe in FHC is identified by the start and end node number must be unique. •You can manually enter a node number which has not already been used. •If you have auto node number switched on then the next available node number will be provided automatically •Use the Auto button to generate the next node number (if auto node is switch off) |

|
|
|
Pipe material |
|
|
You can use the drop-down to select the type of pipe material which you require. The number and type of pipes which are available are dependent on the pipe data table which are selected to use in the project data. |

|
|
|
Pipe size |
|
|
Dependent on the Pipe material you have selected you will be given the available pipe sizes which you can select in this drop-down box. |
|
|
|
|
|
Direction selection |
|
|
You can use the direction selection to quickly specify the direction you which the pipe to travel, this is often quick and easy method to specify the pipe direction and will automatically update the pipe direction drop-down box (10).
In FHC you will build a three-dimensional hydraulic representation of your pipework with pipes going up or down or by using the the compass points. You may find it useful to mark on your drawing the North-point for reference. |

Help |

|
This will open the FHC on on-line help system and display the help topic for the ADD pipe command |
|
|
|
|
|
Remove head |
|
|
When you add a new pipe the data for the last pipe will be copied including the head code if you do not require the head you can press the RH button for it to be removed. |
|
|
|
|
|
Lock length |
|
|
If you press the lock length button the Add command will remember the pipe length you added in (2) above and the pipe length entered will be used next time you add a pipe. This button can be switch ON and OFF as required by pressing the button. |
