Break Pipe
The Break Pipe command will allow you to insert a new node number into an existing pipe which effectively breaks the pipe in two. You can access this command from the menu Draw->Break pipe or from the icon on the toolbar or use the shortcut key command [Ctrl+B].
1.Select the Break Pipe command.
2.With the mouse select the centre of the pipe you wish to break
3.Enter the required information into the Break Pipe dialogue box as bellow
4.Press the Break button to complete the action

Pipe length |

You will need to enter the pipe length between the start node and your new node number. In the above example this would be a length between node 525 and the proposed new node number of 650. |

The new node number text box will be pre-populated with the next available node number, you may however enter your own node number which you require, the node number must be unique.
It can be helpful to have the node numbers in logical order so for instance in the above example the next available automatic node number is 594 but the existing pipe node numbers are 140 - 150 it many be more logical to choose a node number between these two for instance 145. |

Quick length |
|
|
The quick length button will calculate, 1/3, 1/2 or 2/3 of the pipe length for you and enter this as the pipe length from the start. For example in this case the pipe length is 6.5 m if we press the 1/2 button then 3.25 m would be the pipe length from the start node |

|
|
When you have entered the new node number and pipe length and press the Break button to complete the action. |
