If you select the tab Pressure loss in Hcalc you will see the screen as below. From here you can calculate the pressure loss in a circular pipe using the Hayes and Williams pressure loss formula.

You first need to select the type of pipe using the drop-down box this will then select the correct C-factor (friction loss factor) for the type of pipe you are calculating. The values which are given are those generally accepted to be correct in the industry however if you require a different number then select 'User' in the drop-down box, you will then be prompted to enter your own C-factor value.
You will also need to enter the internal diameter of the pipe into and the flow rate through the pipe in If you wish you can also enter the pipe length in . Once you have entered all the information you can press the calculate button .
Once a calculation is completed you will be given the pressure loss per metre of pipe, and the total pressure loss for the given length of pipe in as well as the fluid velocity.
